For equality!

The lack of recognition for deserving great women is a challenge faced by many countries. In Croatia, only 2% of streets are named after women. To bring this issue out of the blind spot, the initiative “Square to be fair” was launched. The initiative began at Zagreb’s Trg hrvatskih velikana (Square of Croatian Great Men), one of the city’s busiest squares, where women are merely implied but not represented in its name.
From this symbolic location, Hearth and Imago, with the support of numerous partners, launched an initiative aiming to divide the Square of Croatian Great Men equally and give its second half a new name — Square of Croatian Great Women, including those who are yet to come.
